Tuesday July 28, 2026, for their second Group A Pool match, in the final phase of the U-20 Championship of the 2026 Champions League of the Confederation of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF), our Grenadiers faced the "Lions of the Caribbean" the selection of Cuba on the lawn of the Estadio Universitario BUAP in Puebla, Mexico. Haiti won its first victory in this Championship by defeating Cuba [3-2]. Starting XI :

The Cuban coach revealed his starting XI to face the "Lions of the Caribbean" the national team of Cuba. This XI is the same one set up for the match against the USA with the exception of Dieuvens Kenson Resil who takes his place in central defense. He replaces Stanley Volcin who was sent off against the United States.

Summary :

Haiti took control of the match from the first half. Miguel Joseph opened the scoring in the 16th minute [1-0] taking advantage of a poor clearance from the Cuban goalkeeper.

In the 34th minute, Franco Célestin doubled the lead on a penalty [2-0] obtained by Emerson Laissé.

Cuba reduced the gap in the 80' thanks to Yankarlos Iglesias [2-1], but Da-Benz Jacquet seemed to put Haiti away by scoring the third goal in added time 90'+2' [3-1] Robert Zerguera responded immediately for Cuba 90'+3' [3-2] but that was not enough to prevent our Grenadiers from winning the three points.

After this victory, Haiti, which finds itself second in Group A, prepares for the last match of the group phase against El Salvador. A victory or a good result could open the doors to qualification for the quarter-finals.
